Startup06 will concentrate upon practical solutions in helping to create new companies and alternate commercialisation models for research institutions.

The topics to be discussed include: "how to create an entrepreneurial culture", funding sources, exit strategies and looking big without any capital.

The conference is open to anyone interested in successful new venture creation. There will be people from government, industry, academia and the general public. Most of the audience will be from universities as either researchers or commercialisation managers. Other research organisations such as CSIRO will also be there.

A range of financiers are attending, including representatives of superannuation funds, Venture Capitalists and 'high net worth' individuals who have an interest in investing in high growth companies.
